Type of Accommodation on African Safari

Travelling on African safari holidays can mean many different types of accommodation during your safari, depending on your travel budget and the length of your stay, the number of days. It will also vary according to how close you want to be to nature, during your visit to the National parks.

Predators Safari Club, we offer a wide range of accommodation on our safari from up-market ultra-luxury to the basic midrange budget lodges, as well as mobile tented camps.

Many of the accommodation offered in our safari Itinerary, we have personally visited the places. This to ensure to you that the accommodations offered by us have been inspected and visited by us and standards are high that we know each lodge’s specialities.

There are many different styles of an African safari and as many different types of accommodation. To help you choose the right accommodation type for your safari adventure, we’ve created and put together various options of tour packages on our website, a short guide to the different types of accommodation available, ideas with the transfer logistics and the routine for the Itinerary with price options.

The City Hotel

The City Hotels, These are situated in or near the main cities or airports, and are often used for overnight stays on the day of arrival or departure, also can be used as a base accommodation for the day excursions, before heading to the safari parks. Each hotel can differ ratings from 3 star to 5 star.

The Safari Lodge

The safari lodges are usually situated inside the national park or near game reserves or in remote wild areas. You will find all levels of comfort on offer here depending on your needs and your budget. The safari lodge accommodation comprises a permanent structure within the different area in the National Parks and Game reserves. Many of the safari lodges have from 60 rooms to 100 rooms maximum, and the accommodation has facilities, en-suite, running hot water, guest rooms, restaurants, swimming pool, souvenir shop, Lounge, Gym fitness centre, conference hall, business centre. Each lodge can differ ratings from 3 star to 5 star.

Tented Lodge

Permanent Tented Camps or Tented lodges are somewhere between a tent and a building, the walls are canvas but usually with a thatch roof and built on wooden decks. Many of the tented lodges are decor in an old fashion African colonial style with the modern amenities in the canvas tents, similar lodges and hotels allow you to accommodate in style as you have the uninterrupted freedom to experience the wilderness of East Africa. All facilities include private, en suite bathrooms with hot water, lounge and bar, some with private plunge pool and swimming pool. Each can differ the comfort level ratings from 3 star to 5 star.

Luxury Mobile Camping

Mobile camping safaris are a “back-to-basics” way of experiencing a traditional safari in Africa, is the 5-star ambience in the bush is the most authentic form of safari. Mobile Tented Camps can be semi-permanent seasonal or mobile, the large tents made of thick canvas in the Hemingway style. The camp moves and follows the movement of animals in the parks and the migration season.

A full camp crew builds the camp. Mobile camping is set up in a spacious canvas tent with a front veranda, furnished in a blend of traditional African style combine with African European colonial styles, comfortable large bed covers with cotton sheets in a Masai style, with a pillow, duvet and blankets. Each mobile tent is equipped with a fully flushing ceramic toilet, washbasin and hot water running shower. Netted windows allow the breeze to pass through, two director’s chairs on your veranda and table. A central dining tent will provide food and drink, with a chef serving up culinary delights each day while a roaring campfire serves as the social hub and gathering point to spend on each evening.

Fly Camping or Budget Camping

Our fly camping safaris are ideal for those not looking for luxury but an authentic feeling of real Africa. Fly camping almost similar to budget camping overnight stay in a in dome tent while on the safari in the bush, Our African adventure camping allows you to see an astonishing diversity of landscape, prolific African wildlife, and to feel for the untamed spirit of your roots as you are bush camping in Africa and explore the wilderness under the African stars in a dome tent accommodation and commune with traditional African cultural safari.

The evening is spending around the campfire listening to the sound of the African night – the distant roar of Lion and the doleful, whooping, “laugh” of the Hyena and enjoying the guides’ stories is a simply magical way to spend an evening. The tents are generally dome style and are made of thick canvas, and we provide three-person tents for two people with foam mattresses for sleeping on the floor, some campsites do not have shower facilities and sometimes no running water also.
